A city that grew more than tenfold since 1990 has a lot of roofs reaching their first replacement at once.
Olive Branch fills the northeast corner of DeSoto County. Its northern edge touches the Memphis city limits, Southaven borders it on the west, and US 78 carries traffic through it toward Tennessee. From our base in Hernando it is about 20 miles by road, and Advance Roofing & Restoration covers it for repairs, replacements and free inspections.
The numbers tell the story of the place. The 1990 census counted 3,567 people in Olive Branch. By 2000 it was 21,054, by 2010 it was 33,484, and the 2020 census found 39,711, enough to make it the sixth largest city in Mississippi.
A town that grows that quickly ends up with most of its houses built within a couple of decades of each other. The roofs that went on during the 1990s and 2000s boom are now old enough that shingles are wearing thin, and whole neighborhoods can reach that point in the same handful of years.
On a roof that went on during the growth years, trouble tends to start small: a cracked pipe boot, a nail backing out, a valley where the shingles have worn through. We find the actual source of the leak and fix that, instead of selling you more roof than you need.
For a lot of houses in Olive Branch the next roof will be the first one the owner has ever bought. We walk you through the tear-off, the decking check and the new shingles, and give you a written estimate before anything starts.
A roof that is getting on but not finished can often be kept in service with maintenance: resealing flashing, replacing a few damaged shingles and clearing debris from valleys. That is a smaller job than fixing a ceiling after water gets in.
Most of the houses here are single-family homes with asphalt shingle roofs, which is exactly what our crew works on. The residential roofing page covers the whole range.
Most roof repair in Olive Branch starts with a call about a stain or a drip after a storm. We come out for a free inspection, get on the roof and trace the water back to where it actually gets in: a cracked pipe boot, a lifted shingle, a worn valley or flashing pulling away at a wall. Then we fix that spot and tell you plainly how much life the rest of the roof has.
On the boom-era houses that make up so much of Olive Branch, those small failures tend to show up together as the roofs age. Catching them while they are still a repair is a lot cheaper than a ceiling, and our roof repair page explains what a typical repair involves.
From Watson’s Crossroad to Goodman Road
Olive Branch began in 1846 as Watson’s Crossroad, near old Chickasaw trails, and took its present name that same year when a post office opened. It incorporated in 1873. The historic center is now called Old Towne, and the houses near it are a different kind of job from the subdivisions that spread out along Goodman Road (Highway 302) and Highway 305 in the boom years.
An older home near Old Towne may have older wood decking or flashing that has been redone several times. A newer home off Goodman Road is more likely to need attention at the vents, the ridge cap and the pipe boots. We look at whichever one you have before recommending anything.
Roof Replacement in Olive Branch: Reading the Signs
You do not need to climb a ladder to see that a roof is near the end. Shingles that look patchy or bald, edges that curl up, granules collecting in the gutters, or daylight in the attic all point the same way. If several of those show up on an Olive Branch roof that dates from the growth years, it is time for an inspection.
If storm damage is part of the picture, you decide if it goes to your insurer. When a claim is settled, we work from the scope your insurer approved.
On the Map From Hernando
Olive Branch is farther from our base than Southaven or Horn Lake, but it is still DeSoto County and still inside our service area. The extra miles do not change anything about the visit: the inspection is still free, and you still get a straight answer about the roof.

My Olive Branch house was built in the 2000s. Is the roof due for replacement?
Not automatically. Age is one factor, but the condition of the shingles, flashing and decking decides it. A free inspection tells you whether the roof needs a repair, some maintenance or a full replacement.
What is the difference between roof maintenance and a roof repair?
Maintenance is catching small things before they leak, like resealing flashing, replacing a few damaged shingles and clearing debris from valleys. A repair fixes something that has already failed, such as an active leak.
Can you work on an older home near Old Towne?
Yes. Older homes can have more than one layer of shingles or older decking, and we check for both during the inspection so the estimate covers the roof as it really is.
Do you only work on houses?
We mainly work on homes. Residential shingle roofing is the focus of the company, in Olive Branch and everywhere else we go.
How do I set up a free inspection in Olive Branch?
Call (901) 350-5290 or use the contact form, tell us where the house is and what you are seeing, and we will set a time to come out.

Advance Roofing and Restoration was great to work with. I experienced almost 2 Years of agony because my insurance company denied my claim.
